Camille and Alexy Guérer may have been great as solo artists, but together, they make up the cool, laid back, folk/indie duo that is Hansom Ēli. Although they are fairly new as a musical duo, the two have been a familial duo all their lives. The siblings have been making music individually for years, but decided to begin writing and producing together in 2017, and boy are we glad they did.
Making their debut performance in only November 2018, the Montreal-based band has made quick work, and released an EP titled “Yesterday,” as well as several singles, including their newest single “Low Key.” Released in December, the track has the same feel as its name. It is a short and very sweet number showcasing the beautiful twists and turns of Camille’s jazzy voice. Other tracks feature chill, acoustic guitar paired with smooth, R&B beats that contribute to their unique sound.
Since their debut, they’ve preformed at Canadian Music Week, and have received grants from Factor, and RBCxMusic, which they have put towards their latest songs and videos… And you thought your 2019 was busy! With more music in the works, I think it’s safe to say that 2020 will be anything but “Low Key” for these two.
